The Philadelphia Association of CDCs and Next Great City/PennFuture, in collaboration with citywide allies, have launched an exciting new website for Philadelphians interested in restoring vacant and tax-delinquent property to productive use.
The site, www.phillylandbank.org, will feature regular updates on Philadelphia's push to establish a land bank and offers lessons learned from land banks across the nation that have successfully transferred thousands of vacant properties into the hands of responsible owners who improved the sites to add homes, businesses, sideyards and community gardens to their communities.
Launched following the introduction of revised legislation by Councilmembers Sanchez, Green, Jones and Clarke to create a land bank in Philadelphia to tackle the 40,000 vacant properties that blight our neighborhoods, the site will offer a critical resource for Philadelphians who want to learn more about reactivating vacant property and lots.
Spread the word...please forward this announcement to your members, friends and constituents.
Thank you,
