Title: SCIENTIFIC PROGRAMMER

Primary Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include programming, data analysis, and
database development and management to support research projects and routine
statistical operations, as well as the maintenance and enhancement of existing
systems. Development and maintenance of
documentation, and quality assurance testing for all programs are also
required.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an equivalent
combination of education and experience is required; master’s degree
preferred. Extensive scientific
programming skills, experience with MS Visual Studio.NET (2010 or later),
Visual Basic.NET, ADO.NET and SQL Server are required. Extensive experience in database design,
development and management using MS SQL Server Management Studio is also required. Familiarity with C# and/or C++, Visual Source
Safe, Visual Basic, VBA, Access, and SAS is a plus. Strong problem-solving
skills and attention to detail are required. Scientific, mathematical and/or
statistical training is desirable.
Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy in
preparing and checking programs and statistical documents is required. Ability to work as a member of a team, as
well as the ability to complete projects independently, is also required. Ability
to exercise discretion in handling confidential information is required. Strong
interpersonal and verbal skills and the ability to present complex technical
topics in layperson’s terms are desirable.
