Our third speaker series event in collaboration with Minding Your Mind is just around the corner on January 29th, 6—7pm. This event will be addressingCrisis Definition and Identification: How can you tell if a teenager or child is having a crisis? What are the signs of a crisis? Where do you turn and what should you do if your child/student/friend is having a crisis? Please find a flyer attached.
We are honored to have Jordan Burnham, a renowned young adult speaker, joining us to share his personal story of a miraculous recovery from a suicide attempt and efforts to raise awareness and diminish mental health stigma. Dr. Peter Scoma, Family First clinician, will be speaking from Child Guidance in conjunction with him. Dr. Scoma has been working with children, teenagers and families in crisis situations in a variety of settings for over a decade and has a passion for working with teenagers to effectively manage intense emotions using DBT.
This is not an event to miss! Jordan has been featured on many television shows, Dr. Phil, Good Morning America and The Today Show and is featured in a documentary, Unbreakable, produced by E60 (in conjunction with ESPN). We are so excited to be hosting him here. He is truly inspiring.
Please share the flyer and information with your friends, family, clients, etc. This is appropriate for everyone—from parents of clients you have now to friends of yours who are teachers or new parents or just interested in mental health in general. We need YOU to help us get the word out. Sandwiches, fruit and drinks will be provided FREE as well.
