On behalf of the Pennsylvania Offices of Mental Health and
Substance Abuse Services (OMHSAS) and Deaf and Hard of Hearing (ODHH), we would
like to inform you about an online directory for deaf and hard of hearing
resources. This online resource
directory is located on the Office for Deaf and Hard of Hearing’s website via
the following link:
The Directory provides general resources and services for
deaf and hard of hearing individuals. A
new addition will allow the directory to include specific categories for mental
health services, intellectual disability services, substance abuse services and
support groups.
Since this is the only existing state-wide directory with
the ability to provide comprehensive resources for the specialized population
of deaf and hard of hearing children and adults, we are requesting that you ask
your providers to complete and submit the online form found on the website.
This form allows for the identification of any behavioral health services for
the deaf and hard of hearing population.
The effectiveness of the directory will be based on the responsiveness
of providers to include their information, so please convey the importance of
their participation.
Thank you for your consideration of this request, and please
contact Trisha Mader (OMHSAS) at 717.346.9937 tmader@pa.gov
or Sharon Behun (ODHH) at 717.783.4912 v/tty
sbehun@pa.gov if you have any
questions.
