Summer Camp Scholarships Available--Independence Seaport Museum in Philadelphia

Information of interest:

The Independence Seaport Museum is delighted to announce that we have received funding to provide scholarships for one week of Seaport Summer Camp. We have 20 available slots for the week of August 26-30. The theme is A Pirate's Life for Me.  The Seaport Summer Camp is perfect for children ages 7-13. Camp runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday - Friday.  This is a unique and fun-filled program!

Kids will learn all about pirate history, including pirates that came to Philadelphia! Campers will work in pirate “crews,” learn all about maps, and search for hidden treasure. Each week, in addition to all of the fun-filled activities inside the museum or on our historic ships, campers will learn how to row in rowboats built by our own Workshop on the Water or kayak in either single or tandem kayaks with instructors. Campers will also receive an introduction to water and boat safety led by trained staff.

If you know of a family or student that you think might want to take advantage of this opportunity, please contact education coordinator Olivia Thomas at 215-413-8630 or email her at othomas@phillyseaport.org
