I suffer from multiple health conditions and take a lot of
medications that make it difficult for me to lose weight. I read
something about colon cleansing and was wondering if you had any
thoughts about whether this is a safe or effective option to look into.

Colon cleansing
is neither safe nor effective for weight loss — or anything else, for
that matter — unless you are using it as a preparation for a
colonoscopy. Any weight loss that occurs with colon cleansing is
entirely the result of dehydration (too much loss of water).
Because of your health conditions and medications, and the difficulty
they pose for you in your efforts to lose weight, I recommend that you
see a weight-loss physician-specialist who can help you with this
extremely complex issue. Such a doctor can help you with a diet and
exercise plan, appetite suppressants, or fat blockers, or perhaps he or
she could recommend alternative medications if your drugs are found to
be exacerbating your weight problem.
