Job Corps - Free Job Training

Thank you for your interest in Job Corps. We of the Reading Job Corps Admissions team are eager to assist you in making your career dreams come true. Since 1964 Job Corps has provided an opportunity for millions of youth to prepare themselves for employment and independent living. We are prepared to help you learn if Job Corps is right for you and to determine if you are eligible  for Job Corps.

We conduct information and application meetings throughout the area and enclosed are the time and place of upcoming meetings. Please choose the meeting that is most convenient for you and make plans to attend. It is not required that you make an appointment. The purpose of these meetings is to provide information to prospective students and their parents about the benefits Job Corps has to offer and what will be expected from you if you granted a scholarship to attend a Job Corps Center.

You must be on time as there will be other prospective students in attendance and individuals that arrive late are a disruption to the group. You must be dressed appropriately for a business meeting.

*This meeting will take at least three hours and could take as long as four hours     depending upon the size of the group. You must stay for the entire meeting.

*If you are under the age of 18 your parent or legal guardian must attend this meeting with you and be prepared to stay for the entire session.

*You must have your

·         Social Security card

·         Birth certificate. Government issued only.

·         Proof of income source or most recent pay stub. If working.

·         A letter or statement from the County Assistance office stating you are currently eligible for foods stamps or any cash welfare payment. If applicable.

·         Proof of legal residency status if you are not a United States Citizen.

·         A list of at least 3 emergency contacts.

·         Your immunization records.

·         Your health insurance card, if you have coverage

·         Your high school diploma or your GED certificate and scores, if applicable.

·         Your official transcripts from your last high school.

·         The school report form that is included with this invitation if you are under 18.

Your application will not be sent to a Job Corps Center until we have all of these items.

We are looking forward to meeting you and helping you decide if Job Corps is the right choice for you.

Sincerely

Dan Moser & Melissa Huhn
