PA CareerLink® Newsletter
July 2014
Greetings!
Welcome to the July edition of the PA CareerLink® Connection. Once again, the staff at PA CareerLink® is happy to keep you informed of the wealth of events and services at our locations in Delaware County. We wish you the best in your job search, and we are happy to share news and resources with you as you strive to achieve your employment goals. We hope you find this information helpful while you continue, and ultimately succeed, in your job search.

Nobody wants to wear a suit in July, but who knows what August will bring? Better to get those resumes out and start interviewing. It wouldn't hurt to try to land a job before the dog days of summer make everyone a little cranky. If you need another good reason to resist procrastination, consider the fact that late summer is traditionally vacation time, so hiring naturally slows down a bit. As always, our offices are nice and cool, and the folks at PA CareerLink® are here to help you with your reemployment needs.
Summer Workshops
Has it been a long time since you've interviewed? Has it been a few years since you've updated your resume? If you answered "yes" to either of these questions, it might be a good idea to take one of the many workshops we offer to help you get back in the workforce. Our Chester location hosts an introductory resume workshop, called Resume Elements. If you live closer to our Media office at Delaware County Community College (DCCC,) you might be interested in our Resume I--The Basics workshop.  Workshops for Interviewing, Federal Jobs, and Identifying Your Transferable Skills are available at both locations. We also have some unique workshops at each location, such as our Career ConneXions Job Group (a facilitated small group series of six skill building sessions that includes networking and other key job seeking skills) at DCCC and our State Civil Service Orientation in Chester.

We've recently added more workshops to keep up with the current demand, but classes can still fill up quickly, so make sure you register NOW. For your convenience, we've also enabled Online Registration for workshops at our Chester location--check it out here. To proceed, first select Event type "Training/Workshop" from the drop-down options, and then select the "County" radio button and scroll to "Delaware." Click on "Search" at the bottom of the page. Click on the workshop you plan to attend--it will be underlined in blue. Then click on the "Sign Up For This Event" button. Don't forget that our workshops are offered at no cost to you. Yes, that means they're free.

If you have any questions about workshops in Chester, please call us at 610-447-3350. For more information about our Media workshops, call 610-723-1220If you have signed up for a workshop and are unable to attend, please give us a courtesy call.
