Health Care for Foster Children Aged Out of System

As you may or may not know, youth who have “aged out” of the foster care system (aged 18-26) are now eligible for health insurance under the new healthcare law, until age 26.  This is a very important piece of information that our former foster care young people may not be aware of. Attached is a general flyer from Daniel Flynn (copied) at the Health Federation.  They are seeking support to identify and refer eligible youth.

Please share this information with your staff and your young people!  Have interested and eligible youth contact the Health Federation using the information provided on the flyer.  Also, please feel free to share with your larger networks.
