Vitamins for Migraines

Daily Vitamins For Prevention

Medically reviewed by Ed Zimney, M.D.
Q: Is it true that vitamin B2 can help prevent migraines? Are there any other daily vitamins that help?
A:
Vitamin B2 (pyridoxine) can help to prevent migraines, if taken daily at a dose of 400 milligrams, according to several small studies. Coenzyme Q10 – at 150 to 300 milligrams per day – can also prevent migraines. However, bothsupplements may take at least three months to become effective, and they don’t work for everyone.
